Kyanite preserves prograde and retrograde metamorphic events as revealed by cathodoluminescence, geochemistry, and crystallographic orientation

چکیده
Cathodoluminescence (CL) images of kyanite reveal several internal textures, including sector zoning, oscillatory and cross-cutting relationships among different domains. Many textures observed in correspond to discrete events, thereby connecting the pressure–temperature (P–T) history rock. To evaluate record metamorphism preserved by kyanite, metapelites were selected from three orogens that reflect P–T conditions ranging amphibolite ultrahigh-pressure (UHP) facies. Cross-correlation variations CL intensity, chemistry, crystal orientation within indicate following findings. First, preservation original growth zones poly-metamorphic rocks demonstrates zoning persists through metamorphic events is not erased diffusion or complete recrystallization. In some samples, retains evidence its reaction during growth. Second, measured changes absolute crystallographic do with intensity any twins. Third, both kink banding undulatory extinction are present across all consistent rotation about <010> (100)[001] slip system. Kyanite (U)HP samples exhibits higher amplitude undulations than lower-grade lithologies, suggesting data may provide complementary insight deformation along path. Fourth, specific trace element signatures can be correlated histories; yet, colour affected multiple elements, a single controlling element. sum, generations identified careful cross-correlation geochemical data, when combined provides robust rock's evolution.

Triboluminescence dominated by crystallographic orientation
Triboluminescence (TL) is an optical phenomenon that has a long and varied history with broad applications, such as damage detection, X-ray source, and mass health monitoring sensor. So far, the properties and mechanisms of TL remain not completely understood. The TL properties emitted during the sliding contact between Al2O3 and SiO2 surfaces were studied along different crystallographic orien...
متن کاملPrograde destruction and formation of monazite and allanite during contact and regional metamorphism of pelites: petrology and geochronology
The conditions at which monazite and allanite were produced and destroyed during prograde metamorphism of pelitic rocks were determined in a Buchan and a Barrovian regional terrain and in a contact aureole, all from northern New England, USA. Pelites from the chlorite zone of each area contain monazite that has an inclusion-free core surrounded by a highly irregular, inclusion-rich rim. Texture...

In the Hamedan region, migmatitic rocks with various structures cropped out that stromatic structure is the most abundant. Index minerals of metapelites such as garnet (almandine), staurolite, andalusite, sillimanite, kyanite, fibrolite, cordierite, plagioclase (andesine) and spinel (hercynite) are present in these rocks. Garnet has occurred in all three parts of leucosome, paleosome, and melan...
